Soccer Game Preview: York vs. Barrington

The York Dukes will face off against the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

York is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Glenbard West on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Barrington put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Rolling Meadows a 6-0 shutout. Barrington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Barrington's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matchups. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2-2.

York might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Barrington in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Dukes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
