Preview: Maynard Tigers vs. Keefe Tech Broncos
After two games on the road, Maynard is heading back home. They will take on the Keefe Tech Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Maynard ended up a good deal behind Clinton and lost 65-48. While losing is never fun, Maynard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Clinton is ranked ninth).
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Keefe Tech had to settle for a 55-53 defeat against Blue Hills RVT on Friday. Keefe Tech has not had much luck with Blue Hills RVT recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eidan Toppa, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of George Anastos, who scored 13 points.
Maynard's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Keefe Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
