Preview: Frassati Catholic Falcons vs. O'Connell Buccaneers
The Frassati Catholic Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the O'Connell Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frassati Catholic is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Frassati Catholic ended up a good deal behind Founders Christian and lost 65-49.
Meanwhile, O'Connell really took it to Chinquapin for the full four quarters, racking up a 96-12 victory at home. With O'Connell ahead 52-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
O'Connell relied on the efforts of Jarrius Smith, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 21 rebounds, and Derrick Kirks jr, who dropped a triple-double on 38 points, 11 assists, and ten steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Kirks jr has scored at least 25% of O'Connell's points. Another player making a difference was Lonndon Beal, who scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals.
Frassati Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for O'Connell, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Everything came up roses for Frassati Catholic against O'Connell in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 as the squad secured a 63-24 victory. Will Frassati Catholic repeat their success, or does O'Connell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
