Austin Steed of Sharkey Issaquena Academy ran for the longest rushing play in MAIS 8-Man District 6 (8 Man) this season against Kemper Academy last week. Steed scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 170 on the day as his team bested the Rams.
Fans got a thrill when Jack Martin and Steed connected against Kemper Academy. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Sharkey Issaquena Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Confederates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Martin has thrown for 1,186 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Steed has 30 catches for 431 yards.
Sharkey Issaquena Academy took down the Rams 60-34 last week, the largest margin of any game. Martin threw for 243 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 112 yards in the win.
