Hickory Grove Christian has gone 9-1 against Concord Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m.

Hickory Grove Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against A.C. Reynolds on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Concord Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Gaston Day. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Teagan Jordan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Noah Hatley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gray Madeira, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Concord Academy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Hickory Grove Christian took their victory against Concord Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-4 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
