Baseball Recap: Fulshear Snags 12th Win in Last 15 Games

Fulshear lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Strake Jesuit, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Chargers put the hurt on the Fighting Crusaders with a sharp 14-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ty Powell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Fulshear let Mason Schultz and Trey Giametta run wild. Schultz got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI, while Giametta went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Giametta hit this season. Mark Macklin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Fulshear has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Strake Jesuit, they moved to 10-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Fulshear will face off against George Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Strake Jesuit, they will take on Bridgeland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bears will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Fighting Crusaders surely won't give up without a fight.
