Preview: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Amarillo Sandies

The Bel Air Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Amarillo Sandies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Bel Air's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Amarillo has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Bel Air was the victim of a tough 42-17 defeat at the hands of Del Valle. While losing is never fun, Bel Air can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 720th, while Del Valle is ranked 316th).

Bel Air's loss came about despite a quality game from Noah Moreno, who threw for 337 yards and two touchdowns. Moreno has been hot recently, having posted 300 or more passing yards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Mukiibi, who picked up 181 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Amarillo can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They really took it to Monterey for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-28 victory at home. With Amarillo ahead 38-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Del Valle's victory bumped their season record to 9-1 while Bel Air's defeat dropped theirs to 8-2.
