Fairview came into Tuesday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Sycamore War Eagles on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ashlyn Corbin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Allie Penning was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Abbie Hammon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Fairview's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Sycamore, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will host Waverly Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sycamore, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Tennessee Heat at 3:00 p.m.
