Recap: Holyoke Dragons vs. Chase County Longhorns

The Holyoke Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chase County. Holyoke was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chase County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.
Several Dragons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellie Kleve, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kleve hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Talavera, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Holyoke has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Chase County, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holyoke won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Haxtun at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Haxtun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Saturday. Chase County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Southern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Southern Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chase County in Nebraska (Southern Valley is ranked 16th, while Chase County is ranked 128th).
