Basketball Game Preview: Gateway College Preparatory Gators vs. Salado Eagles

The Gateway College Preparatory Gators will venture away from home to square off against the Salado Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gateway College Preparatory is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Friday, it was close, but Gateway College Preparatory sidestepped Jarrell for a 42-40 win. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Cougars are ranked 1130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Salado, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Taylor by a score of 55-48 on Tuesday.

Gateway College Preparatory's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for Salado, their record is now 12-18.

Gateway College Preparatory came out on top in a nail-biter against Salado in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 53-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gateway College Preparatory since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
