At the plate, Elijah De La Concha was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Cox, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Northside Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Canterbury was able to grind out a solid win over Southwest Florida Christian on Tuesday, taking the game 6-3. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the King's recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ever Silvente was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Brayden Habuda was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Northside Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northside Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Canterbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
