Basketball Game Preview: Carlinville Cavaliers vs. Lincolnwood Lancers

Carlinville hasn't had much luck against Lincolnwood recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Carlinville Cavaliers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Lincolnwood Lancers at 2:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Carlinville came up short against North Mac and fell 52-39. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Carlinville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dominic Alepra, who posted 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Thompson, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Lincolnwood also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Mt. Pulaski by a score of 53-44.

Carlinville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Lincolnwood, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Carlinville came up short against Lincolnwood in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 45-37. Can Carlinville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
