Baseball Recap: Santiam Christian Takes a Loss

Santiam Christian had taken Monroe down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Santiam Christian Eagles came up short against the Monroe Dragons, falling 9-3. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Justin Oberfoell and Connor Rahn did some serious damage despite the final result: Oberfoell went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Rahn scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Santiam Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Santiam Christian will face off against Philomath at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe, they will square off against Toledo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
