Chapel Hill entered their tilt with Riverside-Durham on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Chapel Hill never let Riverside-Durham on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 26-24.

Sarah Williams paced Chapel Hill's offense, picking up nine kills. Williams got some help from Paige Thomas and her 12 assists. Taylor Davies controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the loss, Riverside-Durham had strong showings from Nureen Khan, who had 21 digs and three assists, and Liesl Rehder, who had five aces and four digs.

Chapel Hill's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Riverside-Durham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Chapel Hill has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hillside on the 13th. As for Riverside-Durham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Northern Durham on the 14th.
