Basketball Recap: Plateau Valley Piles Up the Points Against Aspen

Plateau Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Aspen Skiers 41-14. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plateau Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macy Bevan, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bevan has scored at least a third of Plateau Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Emaline Ealey, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Plateau Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Plateau Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Aspen, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Plateau Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-34 victory against Nucla on the 22nd. As for Aspen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-17 win against Basalt on the 21st.
