Basketball Game Preview: Jesup J-Hawks vs. Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings

The Jesup J-Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Jesup is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 73-53 margin over Wapsie Valley on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the J-Hawks as they're now sitting on five straight.

Meanwhile, Vinton-Shellsburg came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Benton, posting a 67-32 victory.

Jesup is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
