Softball Recap: Skowhegan Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Skowhegan was riding high fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Lawrence on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The River Hawks fell just short of the Lewiston Blue Devils by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The River Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Skowhegan's loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3. As for Lewiston, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Skowhegan is set to take on their familiar foe Hampden at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lewiston will face off against rival Mt. Blue at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
