Preview: Grand Ledge Comets vs. Waverly Warriors
Grand Ledge has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Waverly Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Grand Ledge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-39 loss to Okemos. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grand Ledge has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Waverly unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 69-62 to East Lansing. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waverly in their matchups with East Lansing: they've now lost three in a row.
Grand Ledge's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Waverly, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-4.
Grand Ledge took a serious blow against Waverly in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 78-50. Can Grand Ledge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
