Baseball Recap: Westside Find Success

Westside won the last time they faced Buffalo Island Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Mustangs.

Landon Webb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. Westside is 4-1 when Webb posts ten or more strikeouts, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Blane Smith was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Sawyer Mcbroom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Westside's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Buffalo Island Central, they dropped their record down to 12-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Westside will challenge Sloan-Hendrix at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buffalo Island Central, they will take on Walnut Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
