Volleyball Recap: Brynn Smith and Peighton Hinton Secure Win for Adams Central

There's no place like home for Adams Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the York Dukes on Tuesday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Dukes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

While Adams Central might've won, it sure wasn't easy: York scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 15-25, 25-23.

Leading Adams Central to victory were Peighton Hinton and Brynn Smith. Hinton had 29 assists and seven digs, while Smith had 22 assists and three digs. Smith has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

York's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Koch, who had 16 digs and one assist. The team also got some help courtesy of Danika Pohl, who had nine digs.

Adams Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for York, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Adams Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Holdrege on the 9th. As for York, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Milford on the 9th.
