Basketball Game Preview: Petersburg Crimson Wave vs. Matoaca Warriors

Petersburg is 0-10 against Matoaca since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Petersburg Crimson Wave will head out on the road to face off against the Matoaca Warriors at 7:15 p.m.

On Tuesday, Petersburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Prince George.

Meanwhile, Matoaca put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 53-16 victory over Meadowbrook. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Matoaca pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Petersburg suffered a grim 45-25 defeat to Matoaca in their previous matchup back in January. Can Petersburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
