 Maplesville put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season  on Thursday. They were the clear victor by  an  11-1 margin over the Shelby County Wildcats. Maplesville's win was all the more impressive since Shelby County was averaging only 3.65 runs allowed on the season.
  Mollie Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Smith was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jaden McGee, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Kamylia Talley, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-3.
 The  victory  made it two in a row for Maplesville and  bumps their season record up to 15-12. As for Shelby County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6-2.
 Maplesville will be playing in front of their home fans against Autaugaville at 1:30  p.m.  on Friday. Autaugaville will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last. As for Shelby County, they will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against Jemison at 10:00  a.m. Jemison is coming into the  contest with five straight  defeats at home,  meaning Shelby County will have to defend against a  team hungry for a  win.
