Baseball Recap: Graford Triumphs

Graford took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Hico, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jack Rabbits won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Jack Rabbits as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jaxon Ragle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Gray, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Carson Altum was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Graford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hico, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Graford is set to face off against their familiar foe Poolville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hico will take on rival Lipan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
