Basketball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It was fun while it lasted, but Mount de Sales Academy's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Saturday. They took a hard 86-67 fall against the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers. If the Cavaliers were looking for revenge after losing 76-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jackson Rowley and Zavion DeShazier certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rowley dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while DeShazier went 8 of 19 on his way to 18 points. With that strong performance, Rowley is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Horace Sanford, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Emory out in front who put up 23 points along with six assists and three steals. Emory's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Shaheem Barbosa was another key player, putting up 24 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mount de Sales Academy fell to 7-1. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Mount de Sales Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-76 loss against Gatewood on the 10th. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-53 win against Sherwood Christian Academy on the 10th.
