Gate City won the last time they faced Marion and things went their way on Friday too. The Blue Devils breezed past the Scarlet Hurricanes to the tune of 41-13. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Scarlet Hurricanes are ranked 320th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Gate City and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Gate City will welcome David Crockett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.6 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
