Baseball Recap: Huntingdon Takes Down Central in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Huntingdon rose to the challenge on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Central Dragons 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Bearcats as they're now sitting on six straight.

Eric Mykut looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Drew Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Huntingdon's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Coming up, Huntingdon will challenge Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rangers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
