Soccer Recap: Winfield Falls Short Against Ranked Cabell Midland

Winfield faced Cabell Midland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Generals fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Winfield couldn't quite close it out.

This is the second loss in a row for Winfield and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Cabell Midland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winfield will square off against Fairmont Senior at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cabell Midland, they will head out to square off against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
