Preview: Alonso Ravens vs. Brandon Eagles
Having just played yesterday, the Alonso Ravens will get right back to it and host the Brandon Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on November 29th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Wednesday.
Alonso had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by Sickles 88-12. Alonso was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-4.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Georgia Price and
Aliya Hannah, who each put up four points.
Meanwhile, Brandon couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 55-15 defeat at the hands of Bloomingdale on Tuesday. Brandon has struggled against Bloomingdale recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Brandon saw an underclassman step up: Sofia Caserta scored 13 points.
Alonso's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Brandon, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-1.
Everything came up roses for Alonso against Brandon in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 62-10 win. Will Alonso repeat their success, or does Brandon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
