Basketball Game Preview: Algonac Muskrats vs. Armada Tigers

Algonac is 0-10 against Armada since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Algonac Muskrats will take on the Armada Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-20, which was the final score in Algonac's tilt against Imlay City on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Muskrats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Spartans are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Armada on Friday. They walked away with a 51-38 victory over Almont. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Armada pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Algonac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Algonac might still be hurting after the 61-38 loss they got from Armada when the teams last played back in February. Can Algonac avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
