Football Game Preview: Fall River Bulldogs vs. Weed Cougars + How To Watch

Fall River is a perfect 6-0 against Weed since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fall River is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Redding Christian last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bulldogs had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of the Lions. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Fall River got top-tier performance from Abraham Estes, who rushed for 176 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. The Bulldogs are 3-1 when Estes posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Weed took a blow against Trinity on Friday, falling 35-6.

Fall River will have to contain Jett Marshall as he made an impact in Weed's last game. He picked up 165 receiving yards and one score. Marshall's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 158 receiving yards.

Weed's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fall River, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Fall River has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Weed, though, as they've been averaging only 44.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
