Recap: Oxford Wolverines vs. Seymour Wildcats
The Oxford Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 80-54 loss to Seymour might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Oxford has suffered yet this season.
Indrit Peraj was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-11 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 12 rebounds for Seymour. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peraj has scored all season. Jaquan Ellis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Oxford's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Seymour, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Oxford will head out on the road to square off against Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seymour, they will be playing at home against Woodland Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodland Regional has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 462 points over their last seven matches.
