Preview: Kofa Kings vs. Copper Canyon Aztecs
Kofa and Copper Canyon are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Kofa Kings will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. Copper Canyon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kofa, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Kofa strolled past Washington with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kofa.
Kofa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Barber, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Jayven Wynn was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Copper Canyon had to suffer through a rough 64-34 loss at the hands of Dobson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Copper Canyon in their matchups with Dobson: they've now lost four in a row.
Kofa's victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Washington's loss dropped theirs to 1-5.
Kofa took their win against Copper Canyon in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 68-48. Does Kofa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Copper Canyon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
