Fairfax had lost six games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-7 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 21-20 victory over the University Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Matthew Gonzalez produced another solid effort throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes, while also rushing for 65 yards on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Isaac Andrews was another key player, gaining 102 total yards and a touchdown.

As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Palisades (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.1% over those games).

University lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jeremy Pacheco, who threw for 101 yards and three TDs.
