Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame Prep). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-34 victory over the Gilbert Tigers. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Decker Haskins-Smith produced another solid performance rushing for 137 yards and four scores on only 11 carries, while also catching one TD. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended two passes. Gunnar Perry helped out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Notre Dame Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 419 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Notre Dame Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Peyton Patrassi is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Gilbert lost, don't look at Jonathan Guy. Despite the final result, he picked up 43 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Zane Grant, who threw for 270 yards and three TDs.

The victory got Notre Dame Prep back to even at 2-2. As for Gilbert, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Notre Dame Prep will head out to challenge Campo Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints will need to watch out since the Coyotes have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Gilbert, they will welcome Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
