Preview: Wilde Lake Wildecats vs. Owings Mills Golden Eagles
The Wilde Lake Wildecats will head out on the road to face off against the Owings Mills Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Wilde Lake had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Centennial by a score of 54-52.
Meanwhile, Owings Mills took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-29 win over Carver A&T. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.
Owings Mills can attribute much of their success to Francois Bangoura, who scored 19 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bangoura has scored at least 25% of Owings Mills' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Elliott, who scored 6 points along with 9 steals.
Wilde Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Owings Mills, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
