Basketball Game Preview: Caldwell Cougars vs. Vallivue Falcons

Caldwell hasn't had much luck against Vallivue recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Caldwell Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Vallivue Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Caldwell had to suffer through a 72-44 loss at the hands of Skyview. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Hawks are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Vallivue came up short against Middleton on Thursday and fell 62-49.

Vallivue's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Caldwell, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Caldwell ended up a good deal behind Vallivue in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, losing 58-44. Can Caldwell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
