Baseball Recap: Perrin-Whitt Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

With a playoff win on the line, Perrin-Whitt rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Bryson Cowboys get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Five seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Not much got past Ryan Richerson, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Bryson off the board. Richerson has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Travis Welch was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Perrin-Whitt has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Bryson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-5 record.

Perrin-Whitt will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cowboys: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
