Basketball Recap: West Potomac Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Alexandria City the last time they met, West Potomac decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The West Potomac Wolverines walked away with a 72-61 victory over the Alexandria City Titans on Friday.

Alexandria City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tarik Sesay, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points and three blocks. Those 18 points gave Sesay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Corde Byrd, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with five assists and three steals.

West Potomac's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Alexandria City, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

West Potomac didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-46 victory against Fairfax on the 13th. As for Alexandria City, they will venture away from home to square off against Lake Braddock at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
