Grass Lake gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Onsted Wildcats with a sharp 11-4 victory. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024.

Collin Knight was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. Knight was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Killinger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Luke Guthrie was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

Looking ahead, Grass Lake will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Homer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Onsted, they will challenge Hillsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
