Softball Recap: Santa Paula Takes a Loss

Santa Paula was the 12-0 winner over Faith Baptist when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 8-4 to the Contenders on Tuesday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Angie ?Frankie? Aguilera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Madilyn Stonbraker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Santa Paula's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Faith Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5-1 record this season.

Santa Paula will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Nordhoff at 3:30 p.m. The Cardinals are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Faith Baptist, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 11-6 win against Bishop Diego on the 24th.
