Softball Game Preview: Kathleen Red Devils vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks

For the second straight game, Kathleen will face off against Santa Fe Catholic. Kathleen will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kathleen has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kathleen lost 18-3 to Santa Fe Catholic on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

For Santa Fe Catholic's part, Claire McGee was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McGee has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jackie Miranda was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Declyn Keyser was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Santa Fe Catholic pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Kathleen, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
