Soccer Game Preview: King George vs. Courtland

The King George Foxes will head out on the road to square off against the Courtland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: King George has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Courtland will arrive with five straight wins.

King George had taken Culpeper County down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Foxes fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that King George have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Courtland kept a clean sheet against Caroline on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Cavaliers. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Courtland's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Caroline are ranked 221st).

Courtland's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matches. As for King George, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
