Basketball Recap: Kenzy Ogden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over Seven Oaks Classical

Union was the 49-26 winner over Seven Oaks Classical when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Union Rockets took a hard 43-28 fall against the Seven Oaks Classical Firehawks on Saturday.

Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzy Ogden, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Ogden has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times she's played. Glory Ellis was another key player, putting up seven points and 14 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Seven Oaks Classical's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Easton, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points. Another player making a difference was Macy Bush, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.

Union has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Seven Oaks Classical, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Union has already played their next game (against Muncie Burris), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Seven Oaks Classical has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Bloomfield.
