West Memphis was scheduled to meet Jacksonville in the Class 5A state final last weekend, but concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak resulted in the suspension of all state tournament championship games.
That meant no matchup between Chris Moore of West Memphis against Davonte Davis of Jacksonville. Both are worthy candidates in their own right, but with only the evidence presented to decide the case, Moore gets the nod as the
2019-20 Suddenlink Arkansas Player of the Year.
Moore, who is headed to Auburn, led West Memphis to a 26-4 record and the No. 1 spot in the MaxPreps computer rankings. He averaged nearly 19 points and 16 rebounds per game during the state tournament.

the Class 6A state championship game against Central as a senior.
Chris Moore, West Memphis

Jacksonville. He is averaged 18.7 points and 16.3 rebounds per game in
the state tournament.

ranked No. 7 in the state by Arkansas Basketball Rankings. He led Mills
to the Class 4A state finals against Magnolia.
Jeremiah Jones, Central (Little Rock)
5-11 | Senior | Guard | UncommittedA surprise team in the Class 6A state playoffs, Central reached the championship game behind the play of Jones. He had 14 points in the first round against Bentonville West and 15 against Har-Ber in the semifinals.
