Cocoa and Satellite are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cocoa Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Satellite Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Cocoa fell victim to Space Coast and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to the Vipers. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Vipers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Satellite had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 20-3 margin over the Panthers. That looming 20-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Scorpions yet this season.

Mallory Hines made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hines was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Satellite got a massive performance out of Hailey Veon, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Isabella Barrera was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Satellite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Cocoa now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Satellite, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
