St. Pius X is 8-2 against Belen since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sartans will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, St. Pius X put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Highland with a sharp 17-5 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Darryk Olivares was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Kaiden Swanson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Belen got the win against Valencia on Tuesday by a conclusive 22-11. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

St. Pius X has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Belen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.

St. Pius X was able to grind out a solid victory over Belen in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 9-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
