Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Landon Tinsley and Jahari Mccoy Lead Northwood to Victory

Northwood's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-30 win over the St. Mary Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-22 back in December of 2024.

Leading Northwood to victory were Jahari Mccoy and Landon Tinsley. Mccoy posted 17 points and five steals, while Tinsley dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Mccoy has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Frank Moran, who put up seven points.

Northwood's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for St. Mary, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Northwood will venture away from home to take on Logansport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary, they will host Lakeview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
