Basketball Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short

Grand Valley played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 54-15 loss at the hands of the Rangely Panthers. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.

When it comes to explaining why Grand Valley lost, don't look at Camden Stevens. Despite the final result, she posted six points and six rebounds.

Miah Wren was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points and six steals for Rangely. Wren is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Ducey, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.

Grand Valley is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14. As for Rangely, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Grand Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-17 win against Aspen on the 25th. As for Rangely, they will take on Cotopaxi in a tournament on Friday.
