Basketball Recap: Bishop Ward Takes a Loss

Bishop Ward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks . Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-45 back in January.

Jace Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bishop Seabury Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. Jace Hoffman was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Bishop Ward's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Bishop Ward will head out to face off against Maranatha Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burlingame at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Seabury Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.2 points per game this season.
