Softball Recap: Staunton Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

While Staunton put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Pana. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 4-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Gianna Bianco's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lilly Bandy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ele Feldmann, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Staunton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Staunton pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pana, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10-1.

Looking ahead, Staunton will venture away from home to take on Civic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pana, they will welcome Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
